“Politics is war without bloodshed while war is politics with bloodshed.” This is a quote attributed to the historic and murderous dictator of China, Mao Zedong. Known simply as Chairman Mao, he ruled China from 1949 until his death in 1976. (I was born in 1942 and recall those years all too well.)
He was a brutal leader of the People’s Republic of China. One line from Wikipedia summarizes his brutality. “Mao was responsible for 40 to 70 million deaths through starvation, prison labor and executions, ranking his tenure as the top incidence of excess mortality in human history.[7][8]”
Mao understood the difference between politics and war was separated by a fine line. That line was one he crossed many times during his rule. When his politics did not accomplish what he wanted he went to war on his own people.
In America, today we lack for politicians of any political affiliation who seem to put the country and our people first. The line between politics and war has grown fuzzy. While we are still a long way from Mao’s China, it is time for focus and compromise.

Agreed. What we are seeing now in the U.S. is a war of words without compromise that will shortly lead to civil war. We need a nudge to remember that we are all Americans and that fact should transcend politics of the moment.

War of words also includes the obvious lies being spoken. Unless and until we have term limits and reform of the press, there is no reason to expect real changes.

Very well said, Bill. I think the war part is coming largely from the left, with only the centrists keeping it all from becoming bloody. I don’t see a civil war, but I do see us slipping and sliding into third worldism if we’re not careful. However, we will ultimately be destroyed from within; of that I am certain. Have a nice day! 🙂

Agree that the real danger to our freedom comes from within. Our enemies know that and are already inside our borders. Our young adults are clueless and get involved with “protests” that they know nothing about.
