Inject, ingest and inhale are the three primary ways that our bodies are exposed. Some may improve our health and others can compromise it.
Many things enter our bodies after being granted our permission to do so. Examples include prescription drugs, over the counter drugs and supplements, heroin, cigarette or marijuana smoke, alcohol, coffee, sugar, trans-fats, shell fish, topical lotions, performance enhancing drugs and so many more.
Other things sneak in unannounced. We are likely subjected to them unwittingly. This list may include polluted air, excessive exposure to the sun, insecticides, bacteria and viruses, wound infections, insect bites, unsafe drinking water, vapors from chemicals and combustion engines, home radon and device radiation and so many more.
Are we to live every moment in fear? No! Should we live with heightened consciousness? Yes!
Our bodies afford us great but not perfect protection. Some of my friends and acquaintances seem rather under-informed and casual in their choices. I am concerned about them. Remain vigilant, friends.
In other words: we are what we inject, ingest, and inhale. Only safe place? A trout stream. 🙂
