Recently, I made a big mistake by putting new batteries in our bathroom scale. It had been a year or more since the old batteries failed. It seemed that something always got in the way of my replacing them. Taking naps, eating snacks while watching old westerns, checking for emails and other activities can fill your entire day.
In order to see if the new batteries were working, I stepped onto the scale. To my horror, I discovered that ten more pounds registered than had a year ago. Could my scales be wrong? Can new batteries read too high a total? Scales are not always right you know. My mind was racing to know what to do next. Then it hit me.
Not wishing to fall because a sudden loss of balance, I decided to keep one foot on the floor and put only one foot on the scale. I am happy to report that the new batteries worked, I did not fall and my weight was actually down considerably.
The best way to control your weight is to undress in a dark room and never go near a mirror. You can’t gain weight if you cannot see that you have.
You sly dog, you! 🙂
