Yes or No or Maybe

Many people seem to find it difficult to make a decision. A man asks his lady, “Will you marry me?” She could respond yes or no but maybe is an option. If she answers, “maybe,” it is possible that she seeks resolution of some conditions before providing a definitive answer. On the other hand, it is possible that she just cannot bring herself to make a decision. It is also possible that she is holding out for a better offer from another man.

Even when confronted with the simplest decisions in life, some of us seem to be unable to decide. Many seem to always get stuck on MAYBE.

Can you join us for dinner at our home tomorrow evening? The invited guest answers with “maybe.” As hosts, we will be preparing the food. Do we cook extra for a maybe guest? We have done that several times in the past.

In as many situations as possible, try to respond with a yes or no. Others will appreciate that. Want some leftovers, anyone?
