Obviously, there are many diseases and non-health related causes of death in the USA.
Currently the World is caught in the Corvid19 wave. Viral pandemics come along every few years. When a pandemic erupts it is justifiably a call to action and of great concern until it is contained.
Deaths in the USA from influenza/pneumonia total about 52,000 per year. After this current corona virus has run its course, deaths caused by it will be added to this category. The call to action is justified regarding the current pandemic. _____________________________________________________________________________________
When this current pandemic is behind us we can focus on the major causes of death.
See https://www.healthline.com/health/leading-causes-of-death
Many on this list could be prevented.
Start with over 70,000 drug overdose deaths annually.
Consider over 40,000 annual suicides.
What about smoking/vaping and alcohol?
Abortion is not even included in the leading causes of death statistics found above; well over 800,000 per year. See https://www.abort73.com/abortion_facts/us_abortion_statistics
Why don’t we do more to reduce deaths from these categories? Could it be that most of us feel these are unfortunate, shameful and avoidable but NOT OUR PROBLEM? Concern for our families, friends and the general population should drive us to do something. Will we?
