Trump as an Outsider

Trump is an outsider and reformer. This brash New Yorker is an intruder intent on “draining the swamp.” Defenders of what is commonly referred to as “the swamp” were in lockstep. From the day he announced his candidacy, no reform was to be allowed. The objective was to preserve the often ill-gotten power and riches it brought to all those involved.

No one from outside the corrupt, pre-existing circle would be allowed to take a seat at the head of the banquet table and start carving away the fat they have created and enjoyed for decades. The Republicans were already at that table when he took his seat. They are deep in the swamp themselves and are all talk and no action in support of their president.

In the entire history of the United States, Donald Trump was the first and only person to ever be elected president who had not first been in a power position in government. Don’t look for another outsider to ever step forward and be elected. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_presidents_of_the_United_States_by_other_offices_held

Even our military professionals fought against him. Trump’s attempts to get our country out of endless wars have been rebuffed by the Pentagon. Generals need those wars to justify their lifestyles. In their minds, their insubordinate delays and diversions in following the orders of the commander and chief were justified.

The justice department under Bill Barr is a part of the executive branch. From their inaction and intransigence, we are left wondering if the “rule of law” is anything more than a clichéd and meaningless phrase.

By a wide margin, the #1 wealthiest metropolitan area in the US is Washington-Arlington-Alexandria Virginia/ Maryland where PER CAPITA income is $47,411 for every living person.

The “business” of that metro area is government. The wealth of that entire area comes from taxpayer earnings. Globalists and corporations grease the gears. The greed gap of $47,411 compares to $19,800 where I live and is a multiple of 2.4 times. How could this metro area that produces nothing become the wealthiest area in the country? A few major metro areas (NYC, SF, LA, etc) do have a small, wealthy segment. However, they also have something the DC metro does not have: masses of poor.

Once having obtained a seat of power in Washington, few ever leave. If they do, they take their power, influence and stolen wealth with them. They live lavishly as university presidents, consultants, think tank partners, corporate board members and lobbyists.

Personal Note: I have long been known as an independent who favors small government that exercises limited control over our lives. So much for my dream.

  1. The truth always hurts, and your post is evidence of that. Painful but true. Good job, Bill. 🙂
