Sunshine on a cold day is one of my favorite things. We have a chair in the living room that catches full sun on a winter day from 11 AM until 3 PM. Every sunny winter day you will find me in that chair for at least an hour with a good book and a cup of tea. Such are the simple joys of life in retirement.
We live in an area blessed with sunny days most of the year. But they are not all sunny. Today we have high clouds with some rain/snow mix is expected late in the afternoon. I won’t have my sunny reading time today.
That got me to thinking. Would I enjoy a sunny day as much if they were all sunny? Somehow I doubt that I would. It is almost as though an occasional cloudy day helps me appreciate the sunny days more when they do return.
Personal Note: I had been contemplating writing this thought to you, my friends. My email this morning brought me this message from a friend. I found it reassuring and affirming.
Wishing you all the sunshine you need while knowing our days cannot all be sunny.

As usual, right on the money! 🙂 The sky this morning is bright blue without a trace of a cloud. Great day for a walk. I’m off!
