News Interviews

After watching televised news interviews from all sources, I finally realize that they all follow the same pattern and sound the same.

When asked a question, those being interviewed start with “Well, look …….”

They run through a prepared introductory response and finish with “That having been said,” There is no need for that phrase as we heard what they have just said. In fact, it was the same thing they said the last few times they were interviewed.

Next come the words they use when commenting on another person. They say,“With all due respect” and then proceed to rip into the person they claim to respect.

Finally, they close the interview by promoting “My book” as they hold it up for the camera.

“With all due respect,” I am done watching televised news interviews.
